- India and New Zealand upgraded their ties to a Strategic Partnership and launched a Roadmap to 2030, focusing on trade, defence, maritime security, education, and clean energy cooperation.
- India will launch its first indigenous hydrogen-powered train on the Jind–Sonipat route in Haryana, marking a major step towards clean, zero-emission railway transportation.
- The hydrogen-powered train will use green hydrogen and PEM fuel cells, helping Indian Railways reduce carbon emissions and move closer to its Net Zero by 2030 target.
- Concerns have grown over China’s Medog Hydropower Project, as it is being built above the active Paizhen Fault, raising risks of earthquakes, flooding, and ecological damage downstream.
- The Centre amended the Drugs Rules, 1945 to tighten regulation of medicinal products containing high levels of alcohol by making licensing mandatory for certain formulations.
- India observed World Population Day 2026 on 11 July to spread awareness about reproductive health, family planning, gender equality, and sustainable development.
