IPMAT 2027: Exam Date, Eligibility, Registration & All Details

The IPMAT 2027 exam is an entrance test for admission to the five-year Integrated Programme in Management offered by IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak. Both institutes conduct their own IPMAT exams that lead to a dual degree — a BA+MBA from IIM Indore or a BBA+MBA degree from IIM Rohtak.

The IPMAT 2027 registration process is expected to begin in February 2027 for both IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak. The IPMAT Indore exam is tentatively expected in the first week of May, while IPMAT Rohtak is expected in the second week of May 2027.

IPMAT Indore has 90 questions covering Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability, while IPMAT Rohtak has 120 questions from Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability. Both exams are conducted in computer-based mode with a duration of 120 minutes.

What is the IPMAT Exam?

IPMAT is an entrance exam for students who want to pursue a five-year Integrated Programme in Management after Class 12. IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak conduct their own IPMAT exams for admission to their respective IPM programmes. 

Students who qualify the exam and complete the selection process can begin their management education at an IIM soon after finishing school.

IPMAT 2027: Eligibility Criteria

The main difference in IPMAT eligibility for IIM Rohtak and Indore is the minimum Class 12 marks required by the two institutes. 

For IIM Indore, candidates only need to pass Class 12 from a recognised board, with no minimum percentage requirement. In comparison, IIM Rohtak requires candidates to score at least 60% marks in Class 12.

IPMAT 2027 Syllabus

The IPMAT syllabus followed by IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak covers largely the same areas, although Rohtak includes Logical Reasoning as a separate section. The Quantitative Ability section does not focus on advanced Mathematics. 

Most questions are based on concepts taught in Classes 6 to 10, along with a few topics from Classes 11 and 12. This makes the section manageable even for students who did not study Mathematics at an advanced level.

The IPMAT 2027 admit card is tentatively expected to be released in the last week of April 2027. Registered candidates will be able to download their hall ticket from the official website using their login credentials. IPMAT Indore 2027 Selection Process

Stage 1 – IPMAT Indore Exam

The first step is to appear for the IPMAT Indore aptitude test. The exam has 90 questions, and candidates get 120 minutes to complete the paper.

Stage 2 – Shortlisting for Personal Interview

Candidates who meet the required sectional and overall cutoffs are considered for the Personal Interview round. The cutoff can change each year based on the admission criteria and exam performance. In 2026, the General category sectional cutoffs were 27 in QA-MCQ, 28 in QA-SA, and 111 in VA, with 838 candidates shortlisted for the PI round.

Stage 3 – Personal Interview

Candidates shortlisted after the written exam have to appear for a Personal Interview conducted by IIM Indore. Questions can cover the candidate’s academic background, current affairs, logical reasoning, and reasons for choosing management as a career.

Stage 4 – Final Merit List

IIM Indore prepares the final merit list using the combined scores of the aptitude test and Personal Interview. The IPMAT Aptitude Test carries 65% weightage, while the Personal Interview carries 35% weightage. Class 10 and Class 12 marks are not given separate weightage in the final merit score.

IPMAT Rohtak 2027 Selection Process

Stage 1 – IPMAT Rohtak Examination

The selection process starts with the IPMAT Rohtak entrance test. The exam has 120 multiple-choice questions from three sections: Quantitative Ability (QA), Logical Reasoning (LR), and Verbal Ability (VA). Candidates get 120 minutes to complete the paper. There is no separate time limit for each section, so candidates can decide how much time to spend on each section.

Stage 2 – Shortlisting for Personal Interview

Candidates who score equal to or above the required overall cutoff are shortlisted for the next stage. The cutoff is decided by IIM Rohtak based on the admission criteria for that year.

Stage 3 – Personal Interview

Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Personal Interview conducted by IIM Rohtak. The interview is conducted online. 

Stage 4 – Final Selection

IIM Rohtak prepares the final merit list using the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam, Personal Interview, and Class 10 and 12 results. The stated weightage is 55% for the IPMAT Rohtak score, 15% for the Personal Interview, 20% for Class 12 marks, and 10% for Class 10 marks.

Divide your preparation into different stages. First, complete the basic concepts, then practise questions, take mock tests, and revise the topics where you face problems.

1. Know the Syllabus

Before starting your preparation, check the syllabus for the IPMAT exam you are applying for. Make a list of all the topics and mark the topics you are already comfortable with.

2. Clear Your Basics

Start with basic concepts instead of directly solving difficult questions. In Quantitative Ability, revise important formulas and concepts. For Verbal Ability, work on grammar, vocabulary, and reading.

3. Practise Questions Daily

Solve questions every day after completing a topic. Start with easy questions and then move to moderate and difficult ones. Keep a notebook for questions you get wrong and revise them later.

Once you are comfortable with the topics, start solving questions with a time limit. This will help you understand how much time you need for different questions and sections.

Keep one day or a few hours every week for revision. Revise formulas, grammar rules, vocabulary, and questions you got wrong. Regular revision will help you remember topics for longer.

Section-Wise Preparation Tips

Each section needs a different type of preparation. Spend more time on the topics where your accuracy is low and keep practising the question types that appear regularly.

1. Quantitative Ability

Start with basic topics such as percentages, profit and loss, ratio, averages, time and work, time-speed-distance, number system, algebra, and geometry. Learn the basic formulas and solve different types of questions from each topic.

2. Verbal Ability

Read English every day to improve your vocabulary and understanding. Practise grammar, sentence correction, para jumbles, fill-in-the-blanks, and vocabulary questions. Make a list of new words and revise them regularly.

3. Reading Comprehension

Read newspapers, articles, and opinion pieces regularly. After reading a passage, try to identify its main idea and important points. Practise questions based on tone, inference, main idea, and details.

4. Logical Reasoning

If Logical Reasoning is part of your target IPMAT exam, practise topics such as series, blood relations, coding-decoding, directions, arrangements, syllogisms, and puzzles. Start with basic questions and increase the difficulty gradually.
