  • Lisa Nandy, the UK’s Culture Secretary, visited India from May 1–3, 2025, to strengthen cultural ties between the two nations.
  • A cultural cooperation agreement was signed between the UK and India at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, aiming to enhance collaboration in arts and heritage.
  • A 17,000 sq km cross-state cheetah corridor is being developed between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan to improve genetic diversity and facilitate wildlife movement.
  • A joint committee has been formed by Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan to manage the cheetah corridor, focusing on conservation efforts and habitat development.
  • The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the maiden flight of its Stratospheric Airship Platform in Madhya Pradesh, enhancing India’s surveillance capabilities.
  • The airship, operating as a High-Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS), can stay aloft for extended periods, providing persistent surveillance and communication support.
  • The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) received approval to establish an off-campus center at GIFT City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, expanding its educational offerings in international trade.
  • The new IIFT campus will offer the flagship MBA (International Business) program, specialized training courses, and research opportunities, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020.
  • On May 7, 2025, India conducted nationwide civil defence mock drills, code-named Operation Abhyaas, to test emergency preparedness across 244 districts.
  • The drills included simulations of air raids, blackouts, and evacuations, involving various agencies and volunteers to enhance public awareness and response capabilities.
