- Sarnath was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List at the 48th World Heritage Committee session in Busan, South Korea, taking India’s total to 45 World Heritage properties (37 Cultural, 7 Natural, 1 Mixed).
- The World Heritage List now has 1,273 properties across 173 countries as of July 2026, with India ranking 6th globally and 2nd in Asia-Pacific; Italy leads the list followed by China.
- Nepal’s floods have exposed the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region’s climate vulnerability — this “Third Pole” spans 8 countries, feeds major rivers like the Indus, Ganga and Brahmaputra, and supports nearly 2 billion people downstream.
- PM SVANidhi, a street-vendor micro-credit scheme, has disbursed 1.18 crore loans worth ₹19,171 crore to 78.68 lakh vendors and has been restructured for 2025–30 with features like a UPI-linked RuPay credit card and Street Food Hubs.
