- Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is celebrated on 15th November to honor India’s Tribal Communities and marks the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a tribal leader and freedom fighter.
- Birsa Munda, born on 15th November 1875, led the Ulgulan Movement in 1899 against British rule and promoted tribal identity. He died in 1900.
- The Union Budget 2024-25 allocated Rs 13,000 crore to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for the welfare of tribal communities.
- The DAJGUA Scheme has Rs 79,156 crore to improve infrastructure in tribal areas, benefiting 5.38 crore people in 63,843 villages.
