  • Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is celebrated on 15th November to honor India’s Tribal Communities and marks the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a tribal leader and freedom fighter.
  • Birsa Munda, born on 15th November 1875, led the Ulgulan Movement in 1899 against British rule and promoted tribal identity. He died in 1900.
  • The Union Budget 2024-25 allocated Rs 13,000 crore to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for the welfare of tribal communities.
  • The DAJGUA Scheme has Rs 79,156 crore to improve infrastructure in tribal areas, benefiting 5.38 crore people in 63,843 villages.
  • PM JANMAN Scheme, launched in 2023, supports Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) with healthcare, financial inclusion, and community programs.
  • Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana aims to provide infrastructure in 36,500 villages with significant tribal populations.
  • Operation Dronagiri, launched by the Department of Science and Technology, uses Geospatial Technologies to improve quality of life and business. It starts in five states.
  • World Diabetes Day is observed on 14th November, commemorating the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting. The 2024 theme is “Access to Diabetes Care.”
  • The MATES Scheme allows Indian graduates to work in Australia for 2 years. Eligible candidates must be from the top 100 Indian universities.
  • Researchers discovered the world’s largest coral colony in the Solomon Islands, located in the South-Western Pacific. The capital is Honiara.
