What Is CLAT Rank Predictor 2027?
The CLAT rank predictor 2027 uses your expected or calculated score to provide an estimated rank range. You can calculate your expected score from the response sheet or answer key and enter the score into a rank predictor to estimate your probable position.
A rank predictor does not provide your official rank. Your final position depends on the actual score distribution and performance of candidates in CLAT 2027. The CLAT 2027 UG paper will contain 120 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. Candidates will lose 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
How to Use the CLAT Rank Predictor?
- Enter your expected CLAT score.
- Select the relevant category, if required.
- Submit the details.
- Check your predicted CLAT rank range.
- Use the result to explore possible NLU options and admission cut-offs.
How Is CLAT Rank Calculated?
Your CLAT rank is based on your examination score and the applicable tie-breaking rules. You get one mark for each correct answer and lose 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Unattempted questions carry no marks.
For example, if you answer 92 questions correctly and 8 incorrectly, your score will be:
CLAT score = 92 − (8 × 0.25)
CLAT score = 90 marks
The remaining 20 questions are unattempted and do not affect your score.
If two or more candidates obtain equal marks in CLAT 2027 UG, the Consortium will apply the prescribed tie-breaking process:
- Higher marks in the Legal Aptitude component
- Higher age
- Computerised draw of lots
For CLAT PG, the tie-breaker first considers higher age, followed by a computerised draw of lots.
Your marks alone, therefore, cannot always establish your final CLAT rank.

What Is CLAT Marks vs Rank 2027?
CLAT marks vs rank 2027 shows how a particular score range may correspond to an All India Rank, but there is no fixed score-to-rank conversion. Your rank depends on how your score compares with the scores of other candidates.
Historical data can show previous trends, but the same score may produce a different rank in CLAT 2027. The following table presents published CLAT 2025 marks-vs-rank data as a historical reference, not an official CLAT 2027 prediction.

The historical data shows that a score does not have one permanent rank. For example, published CLAT 2025 data places scores above 90 marks between AIR 1 and 585, while the 85–90 score range extends to AIR 1,955.
CLAT 2027 may have a different marks-to-rank distribution because the examination has not yet been conducted. You should use historical CLAT marks and rank data only as a reference.
How Are CLAT Rank Predictions Estimated?
CLAT rank predictions are estimated using previous rank trends, paper difficulty, score distribution, and historical admission trends. The factors help estimate how an expected score may translate into a rank range.
The main factors considered include:
1. Previous-Year CLAT Data
Earlier marks-vs-rank trends show how different score ranges have translated into All India Ranks. The rank associated with a particular score can change across examination years.
2. Paper Difficulty
The difficulty level affects the overall score pattern. An easier paper may result in more candidates scoring in higher ranges, while a tougher paper may produce a wider spread of marks.
3. Score Distribution
The number of candidates within each score range affects the gap between ranks. When many candidates obtain similar scores, even a small difference in marks can affect the rank.
4. NLU Seats and Demand
NLU seats and candidate preferences affect admission chances and cut-offs more directly than AIR calculation. A rank predictor may use historical admission data to estimate which NLUs could be available at a particular rank.

What CLAT Rank Is Required for NLU Admission?
No single CLAT rank guarantees admission to every NLU. Closing ranks vary by NLU, programme, category, reservation rules, domicile conditions where applicable, seat availability, and counselling round.
The following table presents CLAT 2025 General-category opening and closing ranks after 3 counselling rounds as historical data. The figures should not be treated as CLAT 2027 cut-offs.

CLAT Rank Predictors by Different Platforms: Choose a Reliable Tool
Several coaching institutes and education platforms have their own CLAT Rank Predictors. Predicted ranks may differ from one platform to another because each tool can use different historical data, score distributions, candidate databases, and prediction methodologies.
Candidates should not rely on a single CLAT predictor or assume that every online CLAT rank predictor provides equally reliable estimates. Before using a tool, check when its data was last updated, whether recent CLAT trends are included, how the predicted rank is calculated, and whether the methodology is clearly explained.
How to Choose the Right CLAT Rank Predictor?
Consider the following factors before entering your score:
- Updated Data: Choose a predictor that incorporates the latest CLAT examination and admission trends.
- Transparent Methodology: Check whether the platform explains how the score is converted into a predicted rank.
- Recent score-to-rank Trends: Historical data should reflect the current CLAT Exam pattern.
- Category Consideration: If applicable, the tool should account for category-specific information.
- Rank range instead of a Fixed Rank: A reliable predictor should acknowledge the uncertainty involved in estimating ranks.
- Regular Updates: Prefer tools that update when official answer keys, results, or counselling data become available.
