How to Challenge CLAT Answer Key 2027?
You can challenge the CLAT 2027 provisional answer key through the objection portal provided by the Consortium of National Law Universities. The exact objection dates, fee, and procedure for CLAT 2027 have not yet been announced.
Steps to Raise an Objection
- Visit the official CLAT website and log in to your candidate account.
- Open the notification or link for objections to the provisional answer key.
- Select the relevant UG or PG question and answer.
- Choose the applicable objection category and provide the required details.
- Pay the prescribed objection fee, if applicable.
- Submit the objection before the specified deadline and retain the acknowledgement.
For reference, CLAT 2026 allowed objections through a designated portal for both UG and PG. The portal was open from 10 December to 12 December 2025, with a fee of ₹500 per objection.
The Consortium stated that objections submitted through email, website support tickets or phone calls would not be entertained. If an objection was found valid and sustained, the ₹500 fee was to be refunded to the account from which the payment was made.
CLAT 2027 Score Calculation for UG and PG
Based on the official CLAT 2027 question paper pattern, the score is calculated by awarding 1 mark for each correct answer and deducting 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Both CLAT UG and PG have 120 questions carrying one mark each.
CLAT Score Calculation Formula
CLAT Score = Correct Answers − (Incorrect Answers × 0.25)
To calculate your score, compare your response sheet with the final answer key. Count the correct and incorrect responses separately and apply the formula.

Use the final answer key for the final score calculation because questions or answers may be modified after the objection process. In CLAT 2026, no changes were made to the UG provisional answer key, so the UG paper was evaluated out of 119 marks. The PG answer key was modified after the objection review.
Note:
If a question is withdrawn or the Consortium changes the marking treatment for a question, the final answer key or result notification will establish how marks are awarded. Therefore, the final score should not be treated as a simple 120-mark calculation until the final key is available.

What Happens After The CLAT 2027 Answer Key?
After the final answer key is released, the Consortium uses the final answers to evaluate responses and calculate marks. The Consortium then announces the CLAT result and rank list, followed by the admissions counselling process.
The Consortium’s CLAT 2027 FAQs state that admissions counselling will be held in December 2026/January 2027.
Candidates shortlisted for counselling must complete the prescribed counselling formalities and provide their NLU preferences. The detailed CLAT 2027 counselling rules, including the registration schedule, fees, preference requirements and allotment process, will be notified separately by the Consortium. Seat allotment is based on the applicable counselling rules, including merit, candidate preferences, seat availability and reservation policies.
The Consortium will specify the objection fee, submission deadline, number of objections allowed and supporting-document requirements, if applicable, in the official CLAT 2027 answer-key objection notification.
