JEE Main 2027
JEE Main stands for Joint Entrance Examination (Main) and it is conducted by NTA. It is used for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at participating NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other institutions. It also acts as the qualifying examination for candidates seeking to appear for JEE Advanced, subject to the applicable eligibility criteria.
JEE Main includes Paper 1 for B.E./B. Tech and separate papers for B.Arch and B.Planning. Candidates should check this page for the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin for the final exam dates, eligibility requirements, syllabus, pattern and application process.
JEE Advanced 2027
JEE Advanced is conducted for admission to undergraduate programmes at the IITs and other institutes that use JEE Advanced ranks under the applicable admission rules. It is conducted by an IIT on a rotational basis.
Candidates cannot directly appear for JEE Advanced simply by registering for JEE Main. They must first meet the JEE Advanced eligibility requirements, including the applicable JEE Main performance criterion and other conditions specified for that year.
JEE Advanced consists of two compulsory papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2, covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The examination is designed to test conceptual understanding, problem-solving ability and analytical thinking.

- Visit the official JEE Main website.
- Complete the candidate registration process.
- Fill in personal and academic details.
- Select the examination paper.
- Enter examination-city preferences, wherever applicable.
- Upload the required photograph and documents.
- Pay the application fee.

Do not wait until the final day to submit the form. If there is heavy website traffic or you discover an error at the last minute, you may have limited time to resolve it.
Documents and Details to Keep Ready for JEE Main 2027 Registration
The final document and image specifications for JEE Main 2027 will be confirmed on this page. Candidates may need details or documents related to identity, Class 10 qualification, category/PwD status, and other application information.
Can You Correct the JEE Main Application Form?
NTA may provide a correction facility for selected fields after the application process closes. However, candidates should not assume that every field can be changed. The safest approach is to check every entry before submitting the application rather than depending on the correction window.
JEE 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is another area where students often get confused because appearing for JEE Main, qualifying for JEE Advanced, and getting admission to a particular institute are not necessarily governed by the same rules.
Before applying, check:
- Required educational qualification
- Class 12 or equivalent examination requirements
- Subjects required for the selected paper
- Passing-year criteria
- Age-related conditions, if applicable
- Attempt-related conditions
- Institute-specific admission requirements
JEE 2027 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Before the exam, candidates should understand which paper they are appearing for and how it is structured. For engineering aspirants, JEE Main Paper 1 covers:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
JEE Main also has separate papers for B.Arch and B.Planning.
For preparation, students should also keep track of the official syllabus rather than relying only on coaching material or older syllabus lists.
JEE Previous Year Papers and Mock Tests
Once you have a clear idea of the JEE 2027 syllabus and exam pattern, the next step is to practise what you have learned. Solving JEE previous year papers and taking mock tests can help you understand the actual exam experience and identify where you need to improve.
Why Should You Solve JEE Previous Year Papers?
Reading concepts and solving practice questions is important, but previous year papers show you how those concepts are actually tested in the exam. They can help you understand the types of questions asked, the difficulty level and the topics you need to revise more carefully.
Try solving previous year papers after completing a reasonable portion of the syllabus. As your preparation progresses, start attempting complete papers within the actual exam time limit.
JEE 2027 City Intimation Slip
The JEE Main 2027 city intimation slip is expected to be released in January 2027, ahead of the Session 1 examination. The exact release date will be announced through the official schedule or notification. Once available, candidates can download the city intimation slip using their application number and password or other required login credentials.
The slip will inform candidates that the city intimation slip is not the admit card and should not be treated as proof of the exact examination centre, helping them plan their travel in advance. However, it should not be confused with the admit card, which contains the detailed examination-centre and exam-day information.
JEE 2027 Admit Card Release Date
JEE 2027 admit card has not been released yet. The JEE Main 2027 admit card will be released separately for both sessions. The Session 1 admit card is expected to be available in January 2027. On the other hand, the Session 2 admit card will be released before the respective examination dates.
Once NTA releases the admit card, candidates can download it from the official JEE Main website. Candidates will be able to download the admit card using the login credentials specified by NTA.
Before heading to the exam centre, make sure you download the admit card, take a printout and check all the details carefully. It will include important information such as your exam date, examination centre, shift/timing and exam-day instructions.
The admit card may include:
- Candidate name
- Application number
- Examination date
- Examination centre
- Reporting time
- Photograph
- Examination-day instructions
If you notice an error, do not ignore it. Follow the instructions provided by the examination authority for reporting or resolving discrepancies. Also check the list of permitted and prohibited items before leaving for the examination centre.
JEE Main 2027 Answer Key Date
NTA will release the JEE Main 2027 answer key online after the examination. The provisional answer key for Session 1 is expected to be released in February 2027, while the answer key for Session 2 will be released separately after the exam.
Candidates will also get a limited time to check the provisional answer key and raise objections if they find any incorrect answers. Since the answer key dates for both sessions may be different, candidates should keep an eye on this page for the latest updates.
How to Challenge the JEE Answer Key?
If you believe an answer is incorrect, check the official challenge instructions carefully. The objection must generally be submitted within the specified window and in the prescribed manner.
After considering the challenges, the examination authority releases the final answer key. Candidates will generally get a limited window to review the provisional answer key and submit objections, subject to the instructions issued by NTA.
JEE 2027 Result Date
The JEE Main 2027 Session 1 results are expected to be announced in February 2027, followed by the Session 2 results in April 2027. Once the results are declared, candidates can check their scores online by logging in with their application number and password or other required credentials.
After the result, eligible candidates can move on to the counselling and admission process based on their scores, rank, eligibility and the admission rules of the participating institutes.
What Happens After the JEE 2027 Result?
The result is not necessarily the end of the JEE journey. If you are aiming for admission through JEE Main, the next stage may involve counselling and seat selection. JoSAA handles centralized seat allocation for IITs, NITs, IIITs and other participating institutes, while CSAB conducts special rounds for participating institutes after JoSAA rounds, subject to the applicable year's rules.
The process generally involves:
- Registering for counselling.
- Filling preferred colleges and courses.
- Locking choices.
- Participating in seat allocation.
- Accepting the allotted seat, where applicable.
- Completing document verification.
- Paying the required admission fee.
- Reporting to the allotted institute.
Candidates should check the eligibility and admission rules of individual institutes before making their choices.
JEE 2027: How to Stay Updated
JEE information can change from one examination cycle to another. JEE Main 2027 Notification related to dates, application requirements, eligibility conditions, fees and examination procedures should therefore be duly checked on trusted sources. Do not assume that a rule from JEE 2026 will automatically apply to JEE 2027.
Conclusion
JEE 2027 is not a single deadline - it is a series of important stages. Registration comes first, followed by the exam, city intimation, admit card, answer key and result, and finally the admission and counselling process. The easiest way to avoid last-minute confusion is to track each stage separately and complete every requirement before its deadline. Previous-year dates and rules can help you understand the likely process, but they should not be presented as confirmed 2027 information.
